21 O n Monday March the 5th, a quiet dedication ceremony was held at the new St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Campus in O’Fallon, IL. Managers and store employees from the Jack Schmitt Automotive Family along with friends of the Jack Schmitt family gathered on the fifth floor of the recently opened facility to see a creation brought to life by the Jack Schmitt group. Today the family would celebrate the dona- tion of a “rehab vehicle” Kathy Schmitt Federico of Jack Schmitt Chevrolet in O’Fallon, who was on hand at the event stated “Several months ago my parents decided they would support the new St Elizabeth’s hospital with a donation. Their donation has made it possible for the hospital to purchase a rehab “vehicle.” When a patient has a stroke or other need for rehab, one of the first things the physical therapists do is to get the patient mobile and steady to get in and out of a vehicle. This allows the patient to go to doctor’s appoint- ments and other errands safely without the fear of falling. The piece of equipment that has been purchased will be an important part of rehab for patients in our area.” Sue Bunkers, who oversees many of the groups promotional efforts, worked hard on our concept of a retro car. The result is eye catching and conveys Jack Schmitt’s message of support to the patients. Jack and Evelyn Schmitt along with family, friends and deal- ership staff were on hand Monday night to unveil the project. Jack reminisced about another time when he and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital were neighbors stating “There was a time back in the 1980’s where our store was right next to St. Elizabeth’s in Bel- leville. I have relatives who received outstanding care at the Bel- leville location and they were great neighbors then. Things have come full circle and we are excited to be great neighbors with St. Elizabeth’s once again here in O’Fallon. We hope that many will benefit from our rehab vehicle and the work done by the outstand- ing people at St. Elizabeth’s.” We hope our Ford and Lincoln friends and clients will enjoy photos below from the night of the dedication along with some before and after shots of the rehab vehicle.  Jack Gives Back
